Looking for an immersive wildlife experience?
At EcoTraining you can live your African dream for a week, two weeks, a month or even a year. You may long to experience a day in the life and work of a safari guide or you may be an avid conservationist at heart wanting to know more about ecosystems, the web of life and all that makes up mother nature.
Our wildlife courses and programs are just what you have been looking for!
There is nothing more experiential and interactive than being a participant on course at unfenced tented bush camps in prime wildlife areas. Even at luxury safari lodges you will not get the level of interaction and learning that you will find on one of our wildlife courses.
Subjects covered include geology and ecology; astronomy; weather and climate; trees and grasses; reptiles, animal behaviour; animal tracks, approaching dangerous game; bush survival skills, and much more.
These subjects are taught through exciting wilderness walks and game drives each day as well as an interesting lecture with slides in our open-air bush classroom.
If you love tales of Africa's wildlife and the game rangers living and working there, we have programs that will enable you to experience it all whilst also learning about it. Animals of all sizes and shapes sometimes visit our unfenced tented camps at any time during your stay with us making the learning a 24/7 adventure.
Some of our wildlife courses
The EcoQuest course (seven or 14 days) is designed to provide a learning experience, and incorporates certain aspects of our Safari Guide course. It is aimed at those who are looking for a more in-depth bush experience, but who do not necessarily have four weeks to break away from work obligations.Learn More
EcoTracker offers you the ultimate wilderness immersion. Through the ancient art and science of animal tracking – possibly the world's oldest – you will connect with the iconic places and wildlife of Africa on foot.Learn More
Birding In The Bush
