EcoTraining’s Placement Programme was created to give our students the opportunity to be absorbed into an operational environment and be mentored as trainee Field Guides. This allows students to further their skills and knowledge gained on the EcoTraining Professional Field Guide course.
The Placement Programme occurs in the second half of the one-year course. EcoTraining will place a student at a host property in Southern Africa for a period of approximately six months. This process is arranged and organised by EcoTraining, along with the host properties that have opted to be part of this programme.
As part of the Placement Programme, we prefer that participants get a full, industry-related experience and might be expected to carry out a wide variety of duties based on the host property’s needs. Our range of placement partners includes:
- Safari lodges
- Game reserves
- Animal rehabilitation centres
- EcoTraining camps
- Conservation or research projects and more.
EcoTraining is recognised by these lodges for its credibility and standard of excellence in nature guide training; a reputation built on decades of trust.
