Online Tracking Enthusiast Course

Animal tracking is more complex than most people might think. All aspects of tracking may take years to master but with the correct guidance, you can learn to identify several species’ tracks in a surprisingly short space of time.

WHY DO THE COURSE?

The online Tracking Enthusiast programme provides a comprehensive introduction to animal tracking. The nine (9) live lectures are led by Alex van den Heever and the EcoTraining team of experienced trackers.

Tracking is an ancient art that forms the basis of all bushcraft.

Learners are shown how to identify tracks, interpret animals’ gaits and their behaviour, including important signs to be aware of whilst tracking potentially dangerous animals on foot.

Every animal leaves some indication of its presence or passing whereby it can be recognised. Entering into this hidden world of nature, trackers and students are taught how to ‘reconstruct’ the scene and understand what could have, would have, and should have happened. Tracking can be learned by anyone. And we can make it your obsession!
