The African Travel & Tourism Association

The African Travel & Tourism Association (Atta) is a member-driven trade association that promotes tourism to Africa from all corners of the world. Recognised as the Voice of African Tourism, Atta serves and supports businesses in Africa representing buyers and suppliers of tourism product across 22 African countries.

Atta represents African tourism interests at the highest levels, in a continuing dialogue with many tourism ministries, tourist authorities and associations across the African continent.

Wyse Travel Confederation

Wyse is the only global not-for-profit membership organisation representing the youth travel industry.

They are dedicated to promoting and developing opportunities for the youth, student and educational travel industry; their worldwide community of member organisations provides international travel experiences to more than 100 million youth a year. They provide specialist industry support to these organisations through their membership options.

The Adventure Travel Trade Association

Established in 1990, the Adventure Travel Trade Association is the largest global network of adventure travel leaders. Their community comprises ~30,000 individual guides, tour operators, lodges, travel advisors, tourism boards, destination marketing and management organizations, outdoor educators, gear companies and travel media who share a belief and commitment to sustainable tourism.

The connections and creativity of this vibrant community come together both virtually and in person to create and deliver the solutions that propel their businesses and their communities toward a responsible and profitable future.

SATSA

Established in 1969, the Southern Africa Tourism Services Association (SATSA) is a non-profit, member-driven association representing the region’s tourism private sector.

At SATSA, they strive to maintain their three key qualities in all the work they do: credibility, value and authority. SATSA further provides support to members who require key services and benefits on a local and regional level, and at international trade shows. The organisation also lobbies issues associated and affecting the inbound tourism industry.

To become a SATSA member, a business must prove annually that they adhere to the highest standards of professionalism and service.

BirdLife South Africa

BirdLife South Africa aims to promote South Africa as a top-class bird-watching destination. Their Birding Routes provide birders information on where to go birding, who to go birding with and where to stay in South Africa.

Global trends in ecotourism have indicated a willingness from ecotourists to support establishments that operate in line with principles of responsible tourism. BirdLife South Africa has undertaken to ensure that all the accommodation establishments that it supports, operate in an environmentally and socially sustainable manner.

By displaying the BirdLife South Africa branding, establishments are easily recognised by birders. Their commitment demonstrates that they are promoting their birder-friendly establishment as a prime avitourism destination, while doing their bit for bird conservation in South Africa.

Kruger Lowveld Tourism

Kruger Lowveld Tourism operates as the official regional tourism organisation (RTO) for the Ehlanzeni District Municipality, represents the interests of the majority of private-sector tourism and leisure operators in the region, and is responsible for destination marketing, visitor services and member services.

Kruger Lowveld Tourism also plays an important advocacy role in wider tourism-related issues in the region.

The Association for Promotion of Tourism to Africa

APTA is a non-profit, volunteer, B-2-B association of travel professionals on a mission to promote Africa and her islands as tourist destinations to the retail travel agents and tour operators in the United States.

They strive to create networking and marketing opportunities for all their members, and to be the primary point of contact for buyers and sellers in the African travel and hospitality industry.

United States Tour Operators Association

United States Tour Operators Association (USTOA) is a professional, voluntary trade association created with the primary purpose of promoting integrity within the tour operator industry.

USTOA Active members represent some of the top names in travel and tourism, and account for a sizeable portion of the tour operator market in North America.
