Activities at EcoTraining’s Okavango Delta Training Camp

Learning in nature

Our EcoTraining camp at Selinda offers a uniquely intimate and immersive wilderness learning experience. The area is home to elephants, lions, leopards, buffalo, hyenas, wild dogs, and countless other species that roam freely through the reserve. The concession attracts abundant birdlife, making it an outstanding destination for both birders and wildlife enthusiasts.

Deepen your knowledge

Each day offers the chance to deepen your knowledge of ecosystems, behaviour, and biodiversity through real-time encounters in the bush. The balance of comfort, wild beauty, and structured learning makes the Okavango Delta an ideal setting for nature-focused personal and professional growth.

Daily walks & drives

Each day begins and ends with guided bush walks or game drives through the surrounding floodplains and woodlands. These excursions are a core part of the learning journey, offering up-close sightings of surrounding wildlife. Walks focus on tracking, signs, and subtle interactions in nature, while drives provide sweeping access to the dynamic landscape and its seasonal shifts.

Lectures, field exercises, and fireside storytelling round out the daily rhythm, creating a seamless blend of academic insight and outdoor adventure.

Additional activities

Between structured activities, guests can relax in the camp’s shaded areas, browse the wildlife library, or share stories around the fire. The area is a birding hotspot, especially in the emerald season, and the natural rhythms of the camp offer ample opportunities for reflection, journaling, and quiet observation.

When conditions allow, guests can also enjoy mokoro (dugout canoe) excursions along the Selinda Spillway. These peaceful, water-based activities offer a completely different perspective of the landscape and provide close, quiet encounters with aquatic birds and other wildlife.
