EcoTraining is committed to its mission of creating guardians of the natural world. In this course, you will learn about the essential elements of a functioning natural ecosystem. And the knowledge you gain will bring you one step closer to becoming a guardian of nature.
For seven weeks, every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evening, our expert instructors will teach you about the wonders of nature. The course examines 16 fascinating natural history subjects delivered in an easy and accessible style, via live online lectures.

Subjects covered during this course include: Geology; Weather and Climate; Basic ecology; Astronomy; Biomes of South Africa; Basic taxonomy; Botany and Grasses; Fish; Amphibians; Arthropods; Reptiles; Birds; Mammals; Animal Behaviour (Ethology); Conservation Management; Historical Human Habitation.

Certification & accreditation
By enrolling in this Nature Enthusiast Course, EcoTraining will automatically register you with FGASA.
FGASA (Field Guides Association of Southern Africa) represents individual Tourist Guides, Nature, Culture and Adventure guides, Wildlife Trackers, and organisations involved in offering professional guiding services to members of the public.

Entry level requirements
- Access to a stable connection to the internet or WiFi.
- Participants need to be older than 18 years.

Lectures are held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 6pm (GMT+2). Each session will be recorded and become available to all participants after the completion of each module.
