EcoTraining Celebrates World Environment Day

Eco Restoration for Ecosystem Health

World Environment Day is a global platform for raising awareness and taking action on pressing environmental issues. This year’s theme, “Eco Restoration for Ecosystem Health,” resonates deeply with EcoTraining’s core conservation and ecological stewardship values. As custodians of our planet’s natural heritage, EcoTraining recognises the urgent need to restore and protect our ecosystems for the well-being of current and future generations.

World Environment Day allows us to unite with people worldwide in our shared commitment to protecting the planet. Together, we can make a difference. We believe that education is the key to fostering a deeper connection with nature and inspiring positive change, – Managing Director Anton Lategan

EcoTraining Initiatives

Some of the highlighted initiatives that cement EcoTraining’s commitment to the environment include:

Through immersive field guide training, wilderness trails, and conservation courses, EcoTraining equips individuals with the knowledge and skills to contribute to environmental preservation.

2. Community Outreach

EcoTraining engages local communities in conservation efforts by providing training to schools and community organisations and collaborating with tourism industry partners and sponsors. g It promotes environmental awareness and fosters a culture of conservation guardianship.

3. Sustainable Operations

As an eco-conscious organisation, EcoTraining prioritises sustainable practices in its operations, striving to minimise its environmental footprint and lead by example in sustainable tourism.

4. Advocacy and Awareness Campaigns

What to expect: Ecotourism Field Guide Course

EcoTraining presents a Higher Certificate: Ecotourism Field Guide Course (NQF Level 5).

We join EcoTraining Instructors Richard Davis and David Havemann, who explain the course and what to expect. The Higher Certificate: Ecotourism Field Guide Course is the highest qualification in nature guiding (NQF level 5), and EcoTraining is the only organization to offer this course in Africa. We look at guiding ethics and safety, astronomy, geology, ecotourism, and all the aspects that make the hospitality and tourism industry what it is today or what it should be from a guiding point of view when we are out here in the wilderness.

It is for people who want to see and understand nature at a high level as we go into much detail. EcoTraining’s course on nature guiding is an excellent way to understand guiding principles, theory, and practice.  Please sit back, relax, and let us show you what it is all about.
